Ein Schiffbrüchiger strandet auf einer einsamen Insel. Zum Überleben gibt es dort genug, Gefahren lauern jedoch überall. Er baut sich ein Floss, um von der Insel fortzukommen, wird jedoch jedes Mal von einer roten Schildkröte, die sein Holzgefährt zerstört, daran gehindert. Als die Schildkröte eines Tages an Land kommt, versucht der Mann, sie zu überwältigen, so dass seine Flucht endlich gelingen möge. Doch das Tier entpuppt sich als eine magische Kreatur ...
